

Johanna Gossner
​
is an Austrian clarinettist, Richard Wagner Emerging Artist of the Year 2023, and academy member at the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2015, she began her studies with Alexander Neubauer at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna. Since 2021, she has been studying with Gerald Pachinger at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. In addition, she completed an orchestra programme with Andreas Sundén at the Royal College of Music Stockholm and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Masterclasses with distinguished musicians as well as summer academies in Oslo in 2018 and 2019 round out her education. Johanna Gossner regularly plays with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, Camerata Salzburg, Bühne Baden, Wiener Concert Verein, Wiener Symphoniker, as well as at the Vienna State Opera. She has won prizes at numerous international competitions. In 2018, she was awarded 1st prize at the SVIREL International Music Competition with a perfect score of 100. She is a three-time first prize winner of the Fidelio Chamber Music Competition Vienna with various chamber music ensembles and has won several grants and fundings. In summer 2020, Johanna Gossner was awarded the 1st Ari Kummer Prize at the ClariArte clarinet festival organised by the Vienna Clarinet Connection. In addition, she won prizes at the International Cibulka Competition in Graz, at Musica Juventutis in Vienna, at the European Chamber Music Competition in Turin, and at the North Competition in Stockholm.

In 2023, she was honoured as the Richard Wagner Emerging Artist of the Year in Leipzig and received one of the prestigious Bayreuth Scholarships for Young Artists.
