Johanna Gossner

 

Johanna Gossner is an Austrian clarinetist. She studied with Alexander Neubauer in Vienna and Gerald Pachinger in Graz. From 2021 to 2023, she simultaneously completed the orchestral training programme of the Royal College of Music Stockholm and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra under Andreas Sundén. In 2018 and 2019, she was awarded scholarships to attend the Summer Academy in Oslo, Norway. From 2023 to 2025, she was a member of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra Academy.

In 2023, she was honoured as the Richard Wagner Emerging Artist of the Year in Leipzig and received one of the prestigious Bayreuth Scholarships for Young Artists. Since then, she has performed regularly with renowned ensembles including the Vienna Philharmonic, the Staatskapelle Dresden, the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna, Camerata Salzburg, the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, and the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra. She has also appeared at major opera houses such as the Semperoper Dresden, the Vienna State Opera, and Bühne Baden.

Among her achievements are prizes at international competitions, including the European Chamber Music Competition in Turin and the North Competition in Sweden. She is also a three-time first-prize winner of the Fidelio Chamber Music Competition in Vienna and a recipient of several scholarship and support programmes.

Alongside her orchestral career, she performs with her newly founded fusion chamber music trio Trianima (www.trianima.at), which combines classical music, jazz, and world music influences. She is also internationally active with the award-winning Duo Minerva.
